Course Details: This preclinical course will present the basic principles and theories of Removable Partial Dentures. The purpose of the course is to provide the student with an understanding in the basic biomechanical principles and design philosophy of partial denture treatment. The laboratory exercise will enable students to master the theory, methods, and techniques of partial denture design, occlusal analysis and equilibration in partially edentulous patients, preparations of rests and guide planes on RPD abutment teeth, as well as the necessary laboratory procedures required for fabrication of RPD in both digital and analog ways.

Course Details: This preclinical course is a continuation of Removable Partial Dentures RFE219. The purpose of the course is to provide the student with an understanding and developing skills in the applications and treatment delivery of Removable Partial Dentures. This includes diagnosis, treatment planning, design, fabrication, delivery and maintenance of these prostheses. Students will be exposed, through lecture and laboratory projects, to the laboratory and clinical aspects of RPD treatment. Students who has successfully completed and passed RFE219 and RFE220 will be able to begin treating clinical patients with removable partial denture needs in the clinic.
