Infancy To Adolescence
Course description
The purpose of this course is for the student to learn about aspects of oral health care that are unique to the care of the child patient, to apply accumulated knowledge to the care of the child patient, and to receive a broad introduction to the behavioral sciences of pediatric dentistry. This course also examines the growth and development of pediatric patient from infancy to adolescence within the biopsychosocial paradigm.
The goals of the course are to prepare dental students to be able to communicate with children of various ages in an age-appropriate manner and to recognize and manage the development of dentition and occlusion.
