Course description
This is an advanced course that will expose the dental student to the broad disease processes that oral and maxillofacial surgeons diagnose and treat, including temporomandibular joint disorders, cleft lip and palate, nerve injuries, dentofacial deformities, masses in the head and neck, and osteonecrosis of the jaws. This course includes didactic lectures on each topic, multiple clinical case examples, and discussion of risks and complications of these advanced surgical procedures.
