Course description
As dentists, you will be the experts and primary caregivers in treating what is arguably the most common infectious disease in humans – dental caries. Repair and replacement of decayed teeth along with lost productivity due to associated pain and infection account for billions of dollars in costs annually in the U.S. Furthermore, dental caries if left untreated can be life-threatening. Most importantly, dental caries in eminently preventable and even reversible, and evidence-based methodology now exists to make dentists’ efforts in this regard more effective than ever before. This course will introduce the foundational concepts needed to understand and treat dental caries.
