Clinical Treatment Planning
Course description
The Clinical Treatment Planning course is offered for 3rd and 4th year students and is designed to introduce and develop the skills needed for the clinical diagnose, prognosis and development of a treatment plan in a patient-centered manner. Course objectives for the D3 students focus on developing the essential clinical skills required for treatment planning. This includes communication skills with patient, determination of clinical disease and health parameters, clinical data collection, interpretation of clinical findings and development of a sequenced treatment plan. In addition, identification of when to consult and refer the patient to a specialist will be determined in a clinical setting. Course objectives for the D4 students focus on expanding the students’ skills and knowledge base in clinical treatment planning. This includes additional clinical training that allows students to develop comprehensive patient evaluation in order to formulate comprehensive treatment plan that meet the patient’s expectations.
