Dental Morphology
Course description
This course is designed to provide the student with the fundamentals of dental anatomy and occlusion, and introduce concepts related to operative dentistry. A companion course, RFE 101 Introduction to Dental Waxing, will use interactive workshops and waxing selected components of tooth anatomy to complement and reinforce the didactic material. The information presented in these two courses will serve as the foundation for subsequent preclinical courses in restorative dentistry, occlusion, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and endodontics.

Course Details: This course presents clinical applications of dental morphology and occlusion in a combined lecture, laboratory, and clinic format. Emphasize the better understanding of the components and their functions of the stomatognathic system. Goal: Link morphology/occlusion to the initial biomechanical principle of occlusion which is the main foundation for all restorative dentistry courses throughout dental school.
