Course description
This course provides the basic knowledge regarding properties and behaviors of dental materials necessary to select and use materials in clinical practice.
The first part of the course will describe the foundations of materials science and discuss the terminology necessary to describe the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of materials.
The following part of the course will deal with dental materials commonly used in the dental office and laboratory with emphasis on the structure, composition and chemistry of those materials.
