Fourteen School of Dentistry Faculty Named to Top Scientists List
A total of 14 faculty members from the UCLA School of Dentistry have earned a place among the top 2% of global scientists, according to recently published lists from Stanford University.
The Bruin scholars recognized in the fourth annual Updated Science-wide Author Databases of Standardized Citation Indicators are:

The rankings, developed by John P.A. Ioannidis and his team at Stanford University, are derived from an extensive evaluation of various metrics such as citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, and a composite indicator (c-score). Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields using the Science-Metrix classification. Career-long data is updated to end-of-2022 and single-year data pertains to citations received during calendar year 2022. The list has been published annually since 2019.
“From cancer research to implantology to societal impacts on childhood carries, the top scientists list underscores the depth and breadth of discoveries being made within our school,” said Dr. Krebsbach, who serves as the School of Dentistry’s dean. “I am honored to be included, but more importantly, I am honored to call these exceptional researchers my UCLA colleagues.”
