Improving the oral health of individuals in California is central to the UCLA School of Dentistry’s mission. And community service is a core value we strive to uphold and instill in all of our student dentists and trainees at the dental school.

Starting in 1998, we’ve provided free dental care and treatment at community events in Los Angeles and neighboring counties. Our health fairs and events provide a valuable service, and are among our students and faculty’s most valuable contributions to society.

Providing care and promoting the importance of good oral health gives students the opportunity to interact with people of all ages and backgrounds, to experience first-hand the unique needs of different groups in the community.

Health Fairs & Outreach Events

Care Harbor Clinic

For years, our faculty, residents, and pre-doctoral students have volunteered their expertise and services at the annual Care Harbor clinic - a large-scale event serving hundreds of Angelenos in desperate need of basic oral health services.

The School of Dentistry is one of dozens of healthcare providers that come together to provide free medical, dental, and vision care to adults, children, and families. The number of people served has grown every year, with dental services in high demand, for the opportunity to have teeth examined, extracted, and even filled.
