Pediatric Dentistry Featured In UCLA Magazine

UCLA School of Dentistry is honored to be recognized as a part of the problem solvers tackling global inequities. Our pediatric clinics serve thousands of children who otherwise may not have any access to care. The clinics work to fight the number 1 chronic yet preventable disease in children, caries or tooth decay.

The COVID-19 crisis continues to turn our daily lives upside down. We are all experiencing a profound shift both professionally and personally. The UCLA Dentistry family is vast and widespread, but we’re also friendly and familiar and we want you to know that we are here with you and for you during these unprecedented times.

Like you, we have had to adjust the way we operate. We are having to change the ways we serve our patients and how we train our students.

It began with sandwiches.

Since March, when UCLA transitioned to remote learning and closed the campus to all but essential services in response to the coronavirus pandemic, about 200 international students have chosen to stay in campus residence halls. Naturally, their situations caused concern among their parents all over the world.

American Dental Association Responds to World Health Organization Recommendation: Dentistry is Essential Health Care

The American Dental Association (ADA) respectfully yet strongly disagrees with the World Health Organization’s (WHO) recommendation to delay “routine” dental care in certain situations due to COVID-19.
