Frequently Asked Questions - New Patients
1. Why do patients choose the UCLA Faculty Group Dental Practice?
2. How do I make an appointment?
Please contact us at (310)794-5750 to schedule an appointment. You can print directions to the practice and our new patient registration forms from this website. Please fill them out and bring them with you to your appointment to expedite the registration process.
3. What will my new patient appointment entail?
Your new patient visit will include a comprehensive oral examination with your chosen faculty member and any necessary X-rays will be taken. If you have had recent x-rays in another office, please bring them with you to your new patient appointment. This will help in determining if any additional X-rays are necessary. All other appointments will be scheduled once the examination has been completed. These appointments, which include hygiene services, will be scheduled on a separate day.
4. Is there a fee for new patient exams?
Yes, there is a fee for all exams and specialist consultations. Please contact us at (310)794-5750 for the appropriate fee information.
5. What services are available for children?
Our practice provides a full range of preventive, restorative and orthodontic services for children.
6. Are orthodontic services available for adults?
Yes, the practice provides orthodontic services for adults and patients of all ages. We offer traditional braces, clear or Invisalign.
7. Will payment be expected at the time of service if I have dental insurance?
As the practitioners are Delta Dental Premier Providers (except our Prosthodontists Drs. Hewlett, Shah and Wu), patients that are covered by Delta Dental will only pay their co-payment and any deductibles at the time of service and we will bill Delta Dental for the expected insurance portion. For all non-Delta Dental insurance plans, payment is expected at the time of service. The practice will bill your dental insurance electronically the next day and any insurance payment due you will be sent to your home by your insurance company. You can expect the check in 10-12 days in most instances.
8. How can I pay for my treatment?
We accept cash, checks, cashier’s checks, VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. The practitioners are Delta Dental Premier Providers (except the Prosthodontists - Drs. Hewlett, Shah and Wu) and accept most indemnity dental insurance plans. Indemnity insurance plans allow you the freedom to receive dental services anywhere you choose. We also accept PPO plans but are considered out of network for all PPO plans. We do not accept DMO plans.
