Biography

Dr. Jia Chang is an associate professor of the Section of Periodontics in the Division of Regenerative and Reconstructive Sciences.

Dr. Chang earned his dental degree in 1995 and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency training in 1999 at Wuhan University in China. He then obtained a Ph.D. from Peking University in 2002. Dr. Chang completed further research training at the University of Michigan as a post-doctoral fellow and as an assistant researcher at UCLA. Dr. Chang completed his specialty training in Periodontology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2014. The following year, he became an American Board of Periodontology diplomate. Dr. Chang served as a full-time faculty member in periodontics at the University of Florida College of Dentistry for ten years before moving to UCLA.

At the UCLA School of Dentistry, Dr. Chang contributes to all aspects of teaching, research, patient care, and service assignments.
