Pre-Dental Programs
The UCLA School of Dentistry offers several unique learning experiences to help undergraduate students or recent college graduates who want to explore a future career in dentistry.
Post-Baccalaureate Program
(*Not currently enrolling students; please check back for updates)
Our post-baccalaureate program creates a pathway to better educational opportunities and careers in dentistry and the health sciences for underrepresented, disadvantaged college students or those close to graduating. The 1-year program offers comprehensive, hands-on experience to help increase their chances of being accepted into a DDS or DMD program.
Basic Dental Principles
Our Basic Dental Principles (BDP) Lecture Series cover a variety of topics that introduce undergraduate students to the scope of dentistry. The BDP Laboratory Course exposes participants to the ‘hands on’ aspects of dentistry through technique lectures and clinical exercises.
Volunteer Programs
We offer two volunteer options for interested students. The Clinic Volunteer program is an 80-hour, 6-month commitment for undergraduate students interested in a career in dentistry, and is designed to provide students with a multi-faceted introduction to patient care, in a dental school environment. The Research Volunteer program is for undergraduate students who are interested in dental research.
