By the end of this lecture, participants will have a great understanding of how to implement the CAMBRA (Caries Management by Risk Assessment) protocol in pediatric dental practice and apply minimally invasive dentistry techniques to prevent and manage early childhood caries, promoting long-term oral health through personalized, evidence-based care.
In addition to these core topics, this course will also cover the basic principles of laser applications relevant to pediatric dental procedures and how they may contribute to minimally invasive dentistry. Participants will learn to identify commonly used dental lasers in pediatric dentistry, demonstrate an understanding of their clinical applications for pediatric patients, and evaluate and interpret outcomes associated with oral laser use. This course will also focus on the potential non-invasive laser approach for young individuals.
Lastly, further learning objectives include recognizing the basic impact of fixed orthodontic appliances and clear aligners on the oral microbiome of orthodontic patients, comparing common diagnostic and treatment modalities for white spot lesions, and reviewing and employ clinical strategies for children in orthodontic treatment form pediatric dentistry perspectives.
