This recorded video lecture will present medical issue related to a number of significant cardiovascular disease. Clinicians will be able to utilize this information to improve dental patient assessment and care. This is Module 1 of 3.
Participants will learn about:
- Hypertension
- Ischemic heart disease
- Transient ischemic attack and stroke
- Heart failure
- Cardiac arrhythmias
- Infective endocarditis
- Congenital heart disease
Course Objectives
By the end of the lecture, participants will be able to:
- define stages of hypertension and its treatments
- explain pathophysiology of ischemic heart disease, mechanisms of transient ischemic attack (TIA) and stroke
- outline heart failure classifications and stages
- explain cardiac arrhythmias and describe their medical treatments
- define clinical aspects of infective endocarditis and congenital heart defects
