This recorded video lecture will present aspects of cardiovascular disorders relating to the dental management of patients hypertension, ischemic heart disease, and a history of stroke. Clinicians will be able to utilize this information to improve dental patient assessment and care. This is Module 2 of 3.
Participants will learn about:
- general approach to cardiovascular disorders
- hypertension
- ischemic heart disease
- peripheral vascular disease
- stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA)
- thromboembolic disease prevention
Course Objectives
By the end of the lecture, participants will be able to:
- define the implication of hypertension in dentistry
- explain dental management of patients with ischemic heart disease
- describe dental treatment modifications for patients with a history of transient ischemic attack (TIA) and stroke
