Section of Pediatric Dentistry
The mission of the faculty and staff of the Section of Pediatric Dentistry is to improve the health of the people of California by educating residents, students, and practitioners about the physical and mental growth of children and the art and science of pediatric dentistry.
This mission is accomplished by researching the causes, prevention, and treatment of dental diseases and craniofacial abnormalities in the infant, child, and adolescent patient and by providing service to our patients and to the community at large. With the exceptional work of staff, faculty, and students, personnel go beyond their work and take the legacy of UCLA from California to the rest of the country and the world beyond.

Research
Members of this Section promote and participate in high-quality research and sponsored activities to increase knowledge and ensure early prevention of dental diseases for the children of America.
Patient Care
Through our university and outreach clinics we promote and provide exceptional service and care for the children of our community. We are one of the few university clinics that accepts MediCal, allowing families from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds to access high-caliber care.
Our state of the art clinic is a pioneer in minimally invasive dentistry, behavioral management, minimal to moderate to advanced sedation. Our dentists receive interprofessional training, including special needs care and autism care, so diverse families throughout Southern California have empathetic, quality care.
