The UCLA School of Dentistry will have a robust presence at the world’s biggest annual gathering of dental, orofacial, and craniofacial researchers, taking place this week in New Orleans.

From Wednesday, March 13 through Saturday, March 16, the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR) hosts its 102nd General Session & Exhibition in conjunction with the 53rd Annual Meeting of the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR) and the 48th Annual Meeting of the Canadian Association for Dental Research (CADR).

A total of 24 UCLA-affiliated researchers will present their discoveries, including dental students, residents, postgraduate scholars, and faculty members. The full schedule of Bruin participants is listed below.

“On the heels of our incredible Research and Clinical Excellence Day last month, I’m delighted that so many scholars will have this opportunity to share findings with their international peers,” said UCLA School of Dentistry Associate Dean for Research Dr. Yvonne Hernandez-Kapila. “Our D.D.S. students will be particularly well-represented in New Orleans, underscoring the importance of the School’s new Dental Research Fellowship Program.”

Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., attendees are invited to engage with UCLA Dentistry representatives at booth No. 606 on the floor of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Ask questions about the School’s grant-funded research programs, or simply pick up some fun, branded promotional items.

School of Dentistry and alumni attendees are invited to take a break from scholarly activities on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m., as Dean Dr. Paul Krebsbach and Dr. Hernandez-Kapila host a mixer at the Ernst Café. Gather for hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and conversation about the wide-reaching research initiatives underway at UCLA.
