This recorded video lecture will be an introduction to sleep medicine for dentist. Clinicians will be able to utilize this information to improve dental patient assessment and care.
Participants will learn about:
- workflow of screening and management with mandibular advancement device (MAD) therapy
- definitions associated with sleep disorder breathing
- anatomy of the airway
- different designs of MAD’s
- adverse symptoms of MAD therapy
Course Objectives
By the end of the lecture, participants will:
- define the general framework for the workflow of screening for and management with mandibular advancement device (MAD) therapy
- be familiar with the definitions associated with sleep disorder breathing
- understand the anatomy of the airway
- become familiar with different designs of MAD’s
- be able to describe the common adverse symptoms of MAD therapy and its management
