Edward Kwon, D.D.S., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Oral Biology at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. He is a clinician-scientist whose research focuses on the genetic and epigenetic regulation of dental and craniofacial development and disease, with particular emphasis on chromatin-based control of enamel, tooth root, and craniofacial morphogenesis. Using developmental mouse models, epigenomic profiling, and molecular approaches, his NIH-funded laboratory investigates how dysregulation of epigenetic regulators contributes to congenital dental and craniofacial disorders and explores translational strategies to restore normal tissue development.
