About This Resource

This page outlines need-based grant funding and federal work-study opportunities available to DDS students.

Both programs are designed to provide financial support based on demonstrated financial need. Due to the structure and rigor of the dental program, availability and participation may be limited.

Need-Based Grants

Need-based grants are awarded based on financial need and do not require repayment.

These grants are funded by the School of Dentistry and the University. The primary institutional grant, the Dentistry Grant, is supported through return-to-aid funds generated from the Professional Degree Supplemental Tuition (PDST).

Work-Study

The Federal Work-Study Program provides part-time employment opportunities for students with financial need.

  • Available to U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens
  • Students may work up to 20 hours per week during the academic term
  • Positions may be on-campus or with approved off-campus organizations
