Dorothy Tu, M.H.A., a UCLA alumna and experienced healthcare executive in the University of California system, has joined the UCLA School of Dentistry as its first associate dean of finance and administration. Her appointment commenced on Sept. 1.

“IT’S MY CO-WORKERS WHO MAKE IT EASY to come to work every day. We’re a team. We put our heads down and get things done,” said Francesa Moore. Fran will celebrate her 30-year work anniversary in January 2020. When asked about retirement, she laughed and said, “I’m not quite ready yet.”

I have been here for two years, but before that I worked in a private practice for 15 years.

Brianna: My title is Director of Communications and my job is to show the public through web, print publications, social media, and media outreach what an amazing place UCLA Dentistry is.

Dean Krebsbach: Firstly, thank you for taking the time to meet with me. I know you’re very busy. What are your roles at the dental school and how long have you been working for us?
MIA: My roles within the dental school include being a Registered Dental Assistant and facilitating the live surgical operations for the annual Implant Continuums. I have been with UCLA for the past 13 years.
