Biography

Dr. Kathryn Preston is a full-time Assistant Clinical Professor in the Section of Orthodontics, Division of Growth and Development. She also serves as the Program Director for Pre-Doctoral Orthodontics and is active in both the pre-doctoral and graduate residency clinical, laboratory, and didactic educations. As a fellowship-trained Craniofacial Orthodontist, she also serves as the lead Craniofacial Orthodontist for the UCLA Craniofacial Team at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

Dr. Preston completed her fellowship in Craniofacial Orthodontics at Seattle Children’s Hospital, which involves additional advanced training in hospital-based care of patients with craniofacial differences and special needs following completion of an orthodontic residency. She also holds a Masters Degree (MS) in Oral Biology and Certificate in Orthodontics from Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics. Dr. Preston graduated with honors when obtaining her D.D.S. degree from UCLA School of Dentistry in Los Angeles. She completed her B.A. in Spanish from the University of Kentucky where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in addition to Departmental Honors. Additionally, she is Board-Certified/Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
