The Advanced Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry is a full-time two-year clinical and didactic program for dentists and is designed to offer comprehensive training in all aspects of esthetic and contemporary restorative dentistry. In addition to extensive pre-clinical work-shop, laboratory and clinical experience, the program includes didactic presentations, review of esthetic and related literature with the goal of providing dentists with a scientifically-based rationale for all diagnostic, treatment planning and patient care decisions. These include direct and indirect minimally invasive techniques, implant planning and restoration, advanced occlusion, contemporary dental materials restorative procedures, and patient management and communication.

Clinical experience includes direct and indirect minimally invasive techniques and applications, esthetic rehabilitation, implants planning and restoration, integrative dental digital technology (CAD/CAM), advanced occlusion, dental photography, digital smile design and more.

The mission for the UCLA Center for Esthetic Dentistry is to educate and instill values for uncompromising patient care and innovation in advanced education for dentists who aspire to excel in cutting-edge, esthetic and restorative dental care.

A certificate of attendance is awarded upon successful completion of the program. This certificate is not the same as the postgraduate program certificate awarded to full-time international postgraduates in specialty training as a qualification for recognition by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Some states in the U.S. allow 2-year graduates the opportunity for licensure. Please contact the individual states for specific requirements.

The admissions committee considers the following criteria in its decisions:

  • Professional goals

Accepted candidates will be notified in March by email. A letter of acceptance signed by the Program Director and the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs will be issued upon acceptance. The Acceptance Packets will also be emailed to the accepted candidate. 

Program Fees

Fees: $43,800 per year (subject to change)  

Please note: Program fees do not include CED Dental kit, D-SLR Dental camera kit and MacBook computer.

Certificate Fee: One-time payment of $200 (non-refundable)
